Canine Good Citizen Prep

This class is a follow-up and extension of the basic obedience class. It is a Six Week Course that includes the option of taking the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, which is a title your dog can earn.

The CGC Prep Format class involves:

  • Attention
  • Stronger sits
  • Stronger downs
  • Stays (with longer durations, more distance, and distractions)
  • Moving leave its
  • Recall
  • Walking
  • Targeting

In this class the handlers will begin to phase out constant treating (and clicking) to improve the stamina and performance levels of the dogs without food motivators. Learn more about the AKC's Canine Good Citizen test.
